Beyoncé experienced a dramatic technical mishap during her Cowboy Carter tour stop in Houston on Saturday, June 28, but handled the moment with trademark calm and grace.

While performing “16 Carriages” at NRG Stadium, the artist was seated atop a red convertible suspended mid-air above the audience, a theatrical prop central to the show’s staging. During the performance, the vehicle suddenly tilted sharply, prompting concern from both the crowd and the singer herself.

Video footage from the concert shows Beyoncé remaining harnessed in and visibly gripping a support cable. As the prop tilted, she asked for the performance to be halted: “Stop, stop, stop, stop, stop,” she said into the microphone as the music cut out.

Moments later, still suspended in the air, she addressed the audience with a composed, “Thank y’all for your patience,” as cheers erupted from the crowd. The car was then safely lowered back to the stage, and Beyoncé returned to her original position while smiling and waving to the audience.

According to reports from the Houston Chronicle and HotNewHipHop, the malfunction occurred midway through the song. After briefly exiting the stage, Beyoncé returned to continue the show.
