Beyoncé Breaks Boxscore Records with $55 Million Cowboy Carter Kickoff in L.A.

Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter Tour is already rewriting the history books. Kicking off with five back-to-back shows at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, the tour’s Los Angeles debut grossed a staggering $55.7 million — making it the highest-grossing single-venue engagement ever reported by a woman in Billboard Boxscore history.

Spanning from April 28 to May 9, the L.A. residency saw over 217,000 tickets sold and averaged more than $11 million per night. This run is also the biggest Boxscore-reported engagement of 2025 so far, outperforming Coldplay’s Asia tour stops and Shakira’s seven-night run in Mexico City. Only four tour stops have ever grossed more — two from U2’s Sphere residency in Las Vegas, Harry Styles’ 15-night Madison Square Garden run, and Take That’s Wembley residency in 2011.

With eight shows total at SoFi Stadium under her belt (including three from the Renaissance World Tour in 2023), Beyoncé now holds the record for the most performances at the venue by any artist since its opening.

The Cowboy Carter Tour’s star power extended far beyond the stage. A-list attendees included Meghan Markle and Prince Harry (with Harry in a cowboy hat), Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, Tyler Perry, Gabrielle Union, Brie Larson, Reneé Rapp, Jennifer Hudson, Olympic gold medalist Jordan Chiles, and even L.A. firefighter Sheila Kelliher Berkoh, who presented Beyoncé with her Grammy earlier this year.

According to Live Nation and Billboard projections, the tour is on track to gross $300 million, with more than 1 million attendees expected across its nine-city run. This would make it Beyoncé’s second-highest grossing tour to date, trailing only the Renaissance World Tour. Her total career earnings in reported Boxscore data now exceed $1.4 billion.

Next up: Chicago on May 15. But all eyes are on MetLife Stadium and London’s six-night stay — both of which could rival or surpass the record-breaking L.A. stop.
