Beyoncé is back—and she’s bringing humour and holiday cheer to her hometown of Houston for Netflix's inaugural NFL Christmas Gameday.
In a playful promo for her Christmas Day halftime show at the Baltimore Ravens-Houston Texans game, the superstar teased Netflix’s infamous livestream hiccups. The clip shows Beyoncé strumming a banjo for her "Texas Hold 'Em" track, only to be interrupted by a red buffering circle—a callback to Netflix’s glitchy past. She winks at the camera, delivering the perfect mix of charm and shade.
“I’m sending you big joy and love on this Cowboy Christmas Eve ❤️ I’ll see y’all tomorrow, in my city HTX 🤟🏽🏈🪕🌵🎄", Beyoncé wrote on social media, sparking excitement across the BeyHive. Netflix played along, responding with, "Now hold on…"
The promo nods to Netflix’s struggles with live-streamed events, including the 2023 Love Is Blind reunion and high-profile sporting matchups. But Tina Knowles, Beyoncé’s mom, has reassured fans that this halftime show will be flawless, saying, "God is going to be there".
The performance marks Beyoncé’s return to Houston’s NRG Stadium. It airs at 1 p.m. ET, with the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Pittsburgh Steelers game following. If you miss her live, the show will be available for replay three hours after the game.
It’s Beyoncé, football, and Christmas—what more could you ask for?
