Beyoncé Edits Cowboy Carter Tour Visuals After Legal Pushback from Sphere

Beyoncé has made a visual adjustment to her Cowboy Carter tour following a cease-and-desist letter from the Las Vegas-based Sphere Entertainment Group.

During her third show at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium on May 4, the visual interlude previously depicting Beyoncé towering over the Las Vegas skyline and lifting the Sphere was replaced. In its place now stands Allegiant Stadium — the site of the tour’s grand finale this July — a change that coincided with legal action from the venue’s owner.

The original visual prompted Sphere Entertainment to issue a formal complaint, alleging the imagery amounted to “unauthorized use” of their intellectual property. The company insisted the visual be removed by May 5, expressing concern that the portrayal sparked “significant speculation” about a potential Beyoncé residency at the venue.

Before & After

Parkwood Entertainment, Beyoncé’s management company, appeared to affirm the edit in real time, posting the updated visual on Instagram as the concert unfolded.

The Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin Circuit Tour kicked off April 28 and has been hailed as one of the singer’s boldest artistic undertakings yet — blending country music, Black Southern history, and political commentary into a genre-bending spectacle.

The tour continues across the U.S. and Europe before closing in Las Vegas on July 26. With record-breaking ticket sales and cultural impact, Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter era is already one for the books — legal hurdles and all.
