A wave of confusion rippled through social media this week as several high-profile Instagram accounts, including Adele’s, were hacked to post a mysterious image tied to rapper Future’s Freebandz brand.

The compromised posts, which appeared on the feeds of Adele, Tyla, Michael Jackson’s official page, and even Future himself, all shared the same image: a coin bearing the Freebandz logo, accompanied by nonsensical text. Within minutes, fans began speculating that the coordinated intrusion was an attempt to promote a so-called Freebandz “memecoin.”

The incident caused particular surprise for Adele’s followers, as the singer has been absent from Instagram since late 2024. Her sudden reappearance with an inexplicable crypto post raised both amusement and concern across her fanbase.

All of the hacked posts vanished within about 20 minutes, but not before sparking viral conversations about digital safety, crypto scams, and the misuse of celebrity platforms for unauthorized promotions. While some fans joked about an unlikely collaboration between Adele and Future, others expressed alarm at how easily major accounts could be exploited.

As of now, neither Adele nor the other affected artists have commented publicly on the hack. The event underscores the growing risks surrounding celebrity accounts and the broader implications of social media security in the age of crypto scams.
