Chappell Roan had a surprise waiting for the crowd at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium on Wednesday night, October 21. Midway through her headlining set at the first night of The Super Graphic Spectacular, she paused after “The Giver” to bring out Christina Aguilera.

Before handing over the stage, Roan described Aguilera as someone who “honestly paved the way for me and all women in pop,” and called her a legend. The two hugged, and Aguilera returned the love, saying that from the first time she heard Roan’s voice she knew she was “a force to be reckoned with.”

Aguilera then delivered “Beautiful” solo, her 2002 ballad from Stripped, while Roan watched from the side of the stage. Next came the moment fans had been hoping for. Aguilera called “Coffee” one of her favourite Chappell songs, and the pair sang it together as a duet. The start was a little shaky: Roan mixed up the opening line and the two had to restart, laughing it off before trading verses and harmonising on the final chorus.

Is Social Media Hurting Your Child? Your Family May Qualify

Many parents blamed themselves, or their kids, for the hours lost to the feed. But legal claims allege social media companies built in psychological triggers on purpose: intermittent rewards, endless scrolling, toxic social comparison, and recommendation engines that pull kids into content rabbit holes.

Now families are filing legal claims against platforms like Instagram and TikTok.

You may be eligible if:

  • Excessive social media use started under age 18

  • There was a diagnosis of an eating disorder, severe anxiety, depression, or self-harm

ClaimsHero checks whether you qualify for a claim and gets your family justice. Nothing upfront. We only get paid if your claim is successful.

“Coffee” comes from Roan’s 2023 debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, and is one of the more intimate songs in her catalogue. Hearing it with Aguilera’s voice on the second verse gave it a completely new weight.

The Super Graphic Spectacular is a two-night fundraiser organised by Roan’s nonprofit, The Midwest Princess Project, which she launched in 2025 to support trans youth and LGBTQ+ communities. All net proceeds go to the organisation, which had already raised more than $800,000 through Roan’s earlier pop-up shows. Comedian Caleb Hearon hosted, with Lola Young, Tinashe, Amanda Lepore, Blaine Petrovia and Kyra Jeté also appearing on opening night.

The second and final show takes place tonight, October 22, at the same venue. After a first night like this one, expectations are sky high.
