Cynthia Erivo is on the brink of making history. After securing her second Oscar nomination for her portrayal of Elphaba in the highly anticipated Wicked movie, the 38-year-old is closer than ever to joining the exclusive EGOT club—a distinction awarded to those who've won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony.

Erivo already holds three of the four trophies. She won a Tony in 2016 for her stellar performance as Celie in The Color Purple, followed by a Grammy and a Daytime Emmy in 2017 for her work on the same production. If she wins this year’s Best Actress Oscar, she’ll become the youngest EGOT winner, dethroning Frozen songwriter Robert Lopez, who achieved the feat at 39.

Reacting to her nomination, Erivo posted an emotional video on Instagram, captured mid-flight, thanking her fans, collaborators, and the Academy. "Moments like this don't come along very often," she wrote. "I am grateful...to be a cog in the wheel of a piece that makes us believe in magic." She also congratulated her Wicked co-star Ariana Grande, calling her "the actress you were meant to be."

Whether Erivo clinches the win or not, her journey is a testament to her undeniable talent and resilience. Could this year finally bring her the title of youngest EGOT winner? We’ll have to wait and see.
