Doechii made her highly anticipated Met Gala debut this week — and not without sparking headlines. A behind-the-scenes video went viral last night, capturing the rapper and singer visibly frustrated while preparing to walk the red carpet. In the clip, she stands behind a wardrobe screen, shouting at her team: “I’m ready. No, stop. Give me another umbrella now. And another. I need more fucking umbrellas.”

The footage quickly circulated online, with some viewers critiquing the tone of her demands. In response, Doechii posted a TikTok with a humorous caption, overlaying a video of herself with the words: “God forbid a girl needs more umbrellas.”

Later, on her Instagram Stories, she followed up with a more heartfelt message:

“And all jokes aside I’m so so so proud of my glam team and the LV team for an incredible night!” she wrote. “We’ve been dreaming about this Met for a long time and the theme this year is in such alignment with who I am and what I stand for… Everyone killed it. We nailed the theme. And a time was had.”

This year’s Met Gala marked a significant moment for the “Anxiety” hitmaker, whose presence at the event aligned closely with her ongoing rise in pop culture. Earlier this month, her track “Anxiety” cracked the Top 10 for the first time, and last week she was featured on Westside Gunn’s remix of “Egypt.”

Despite the online noise, Doechii’s moment at fashion’s biggest night remains a celebratory one — and if anything, she’s proved she can take the pressure and the paparazzi in stride.
