Jennifer Lopez is no stranger to turning heads, but her transformation in the upcoming film Kiss of the Spider Woman might be one of her boldest yet. In the newly released trailer, the singer and actress debuts a striking jet-black pixie cut with micro-bangs — a dramatic shift from her signature caramel tresses — while delivering powerhouse vocals in a high-glam vampy look.

Directed by Dreamgirls and Beauty and the Beast filmmaker Bill Condon, Kiss of the Spider Woman marks Lopez’s return to the musical genre, alongside co-stars Diego Luna and Tonatiuh. The story follows Valentín (Luna), a political prisoner, and Molina (Tonatiuh), his cellmate and a devoted fan of classic movie musicals, as they form an unlikely friendship through Molina’s vivid retellings of old Hollywood films. Lopez plays Ingrid Luna, a glamorous silver screen icon imagined by Molina.

Lopez’s character takes on several distinct looks throughout the trailer, ranging from the edgy black pixie to voluminous, Marilyn Monroe-inspired blonde curls. One standout ensemble features Lopez in a sheer black gown, opera gloves, and a dramatic blood-red lip. Another sees her dressed in shimmering gold with classic Old Hollywood waves, while the final look shows her in a sharp white blazer dress and top hat.

With her vocal performance, fashion risks, and onscreen presence, Lopez is poised to take center stage once again — this time in a dazzling role that blends fantasy, nostalgia, and powerful storytelling. Kiss of the Spider Woman arrives in theaters on October 10.
