Jennifer Lopez to Host 2025 American Music Awards — A Full-Circle Moment 10 Years in the Making

Jennifer Lopez is set to take the reins as host of the 2025 American Music Awards, marking a decade since she first held the role in 2015. The news was officially announced on April 9 by Dick Clark Productions.

“Jennifer's incredible talent and incomparable stage presence make her the ideal host,” said Jay Penske, CEO of Dick Clark Productions, in a statement. “We know she will bring her one-of-a-kind energy to the official kickoff celebration of summer.”

Lopez’s return to the AMAs feels especially significant given her long history with the show. Her first AMAs performance dates back to 2001, and since then, she’s graced the stage more than 10 times. In 2015, she made headlines by opening the ceremony with an electrifying dance medley of that year’s biggest hits, changing outfits for every segment. That year also marked her first time as host — a role that fans and critics alike praised her for.

The 2025 AMAs are set to air live from Las Vegas on Monday, May 26, streaming on CBS and Paramount+. The ceremony will also include a Memorial Day tribute honoring U.S. troops.
