Katy Perry’s return to Australia has been anything but uneventful.

While performing her hit Hot N Cold during Monday night’s stop of the Lifetimes World Tour in Sydney, the 40-year-old pop star was interrupted by a rogue fan who broke through security and made it onto the stage at Qudos Bank Arena.

The man enthusiastically danced beside the singer before being quickly tackled and removed by security. Though visibly startled, Perry continued singing for a moment before pausing to address the crowd.

“There’s never going to be another show like this, so just enjoy it,” she said, acknowledging the disruption while trying to keep the atmosphere light. She later described it to the crowd as “an eventful 20 minutes” before seamlessly continuing the show.

Just two nights later, during her second performance in Sydney, Perry experienced another unexpected moment, this time midair. While suspended from a crane as part of a planned aerial segment, the rig tilted unexpectedly, causing the singer to face the crowd headfirst momentarily.

“Oh dear!” she exclaimed, prompting gasps from the audience. Perry quickly steadied herself and continued the performance, reassuring fans with a wave and resuming the set with no delay.

Clips from both incidents have been widely shared on social media, with many fans applauding Perry’s professionalism and calm under pressure.

Despite the hiccups, the Australian leg of Perry’s tour has been a massive success. Originally set for just one show per city, the tour expanded after overwhelming fan demand, with multiple extra dates added in Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne, and, eventually, Adelaide following vocal support from local fans.

Perry’s final Sydney performance is scheduled for June 10 at Qudos Bank Arena.
