Katy Perry paused her Lifetimes Tour concert in Detroit on Sunday, August 3, to assist a fan who collapsed on stage during a special audience moment.

The incident took place at Little Caesars Arena, where Perry, 40, had invited a group of fans to join her on stage. As she handed out shaker instruments and encouraged the group to breathe and relax, one fan, identified as McKenna, suddenly fell to the ground.

In video footage shared by attendees, Perry immediately kneeled beside McKenna, cradling her head and offering support until medical staff arrived. The singer then led the rest of the onstage participants in a prayer.

“Dear God, we pray for McKenna, that she will come back fully and brighter and better than ever. Amen,” she said, visibly moved.

Following the incident, Perry reflected on how intense it can be to stand in front of thousands of people. “It’s overwhelming. Sometimes you’re so brave and you can get on stage, and it’s overwhelming. I understand that feeling,” she told the crowd.

Later in the show, she shared a positive update: “McKenna’s doing great, by the way.”

Perry is currently touring North America as part of her Lifetimes Tour, with upcoming dates across the U.S. through August 23 before heading to South America, Europe, and Asia. The tour has already drawn high-profile attendees, including former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, who was seen singing along at her Montreal show just days after being spotted out in the city with the singer.

Perry's recent personal headlines include her separation from longtime partner Orlando Bloom. The two share a 4-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove.
