Lady Gaga Falls on Stage and Keeps the Show Going

After a stumble in Las Vegas, Gaga proves there’s no stopping her momentum

Lady Gaga proved once again why she's one of the most commanding performers of her generation, even when the unexpected happens.

During her July 18 performance in Las Vegas as part of the MAYHEM Ball tour, Gaga briefly tripped while singing “Vanish Into You” among the audience. A video shared by a fan on X shows the singer falling alongside a cameraman. Still, Gaga recovered almost instantly, drawing cheers from the crowd as she carried on with the emotional ballad.

This moment of spontaneity was just one part of a concert that leaned heavily into gothic, theatrical visuals. Gaga’s performance continued with her signature intensity, a mix of choreography, set design, and immersive storytelling.

Later in the show, the singer stripped things back for a raw rendition of “How Bad Do U Want Me.” Starting the encore backstage, Gaga wiped off her makeup on camera and walked on stage in a minimal look: black bodysuit, leather trench coat, baseball cap, and sunglasses. It was a powerful contrast to the spectacle earlier in the night, and a statement in itself.

The MAYHEM Ball follows Gaga’s last major tour, 2022’s Chromatica Ball, but presents an intentionally more intimate experience. “There’s something electric about a stadium, and I love every moment of those shows,” Gaga said in a statement. “But with the MAYHEM Ball, I wanted to create a different kind of experience, something more connected.”

Initially not planning to tour in 2025, Gaga changed her mind after the overwhelming response to her latest album, MAYHEM, released March 7. On Instagram, she shared: “I wasn’t planning to tour this year after my shows in Singapore, but the incredible response to the new album inspired me to keep things going.”

That energy seems to be carrying her through. On May 3, Gaga made history by breaking the record for the most-attended concert by a female artist, performing to a staggering 2.5 million people at Copacabana Beach in Brazil.

Her MAYHEM Ball tour continues through North America and Europe, including stops in New York City, Chicago, London, and Milan, before concluding in Tokyo in January 2026.
