Lil Nas X is facing serious legal consequences following his arrest in Los Angeles last week. The 26-year-old artist, born Montero Lamar Hill, has been charged with four felony counts after an early-morning incident that involved police and a disturbing public display.
According to the Associated Press, prosecutors have filed three counts of battery with injury on a police officer and one count of resisting an executive officer. The arrest occurred last Thursday in Studio City, where officers responded to reports of a nude man walking in the street.
Videos obtained by TMZ show the musician first appearing in underwear and cowboy boots, later shedding all clothing and walking fully naked down the middle of the street. At one point, he can be seen reciting lyrics from Nicki Minaj’s verse on Kanye West’s “Monster.”
Authorities allege that Lil Nas X charged at officers when they arrived on the scene. The Los Angeles Police Department stated that he was initially transported to a hospital for what they described as a possible overdose before being booked and held in a Van Nuys jail.
Court records confirm he has pleaded not guilty to all charges and waived a formal arraignment. Bail has been set at $75,000, with conditions that include abstaining from narcotics and entering an outpatient treatment program if released.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and representatives for Lil Nas X have not provided further comment.
The incident follows a sudden shift in the artist’s social media presence, as he recently cleared his Instagram feed and shared new images, signaling the start of what he described as a new “dreamworld” era.
