Lizzo is speaking out about the harassment lawsuits that brought her under scrutiny last year. The Grammy winner, recently dismissed as an individual from a harassment case filed by her former stylist Asha Daniels, sat down with Keke Palmer on the Baby, This Is Keke Palmer podcast to share her perspective.

Daniels’ lawsuit, which included allegations of sexual and racial harassment by members of Lizzo’s management team, was partially dismissed by a California judge. While Daniels continues to pursue legal action against Lizzo's touring and payroll companies, the dismissal marked a personal victory for the singer. “We’re continuing to fight the other claims until they’re all dismissed — not dropped, but dismissed”, Lizzo emphasized.

Three former dancers have also accused Lizzo of fostering a hostile work environment and alleged incidents of sexual, religious, and racial harassment. One of the most headline-grabbing claims detailed a night at Amsterdam's Bananenbar, where one dancer alleged she felt pressured by Lizzo to participate in explicit activities.

Lizzo pushed back on these claims, explaining that her attendance at the venue was personal and not a work obligation. “I didn’t take [the dancers] anywhere... It was a very consensual environment”, she said. Reflecting on the broader accusations, Lizzo shared, “The hardest part about all this is that none of these things were true. I was deeply hurt because these were people I respected.”

Despite the challenges, Lizzo remains focused on her music, teasing an upcoming album that helped her process these events. “I remembered my purpose… I’m putting everything in my art.”
