Lizzo is opening up about one of the darkest periods of her life, revealing that she once felt so heartbroken that she didn’t want to go on.

While she has denied the allegations, the legal battles have taken a toll on her.
“About a year and a half ago, I was in such a dark, deep depression,” Lizzo shared with the audience. “I didn’t want to live anymore, and I was so deeply afraid of people that I didn’t want to be seen.”

However, a powerful moment changed everything. While attending a concert during that time, a fan reached out to her with a simple message: “Lizzo, I love you.” That interaction, followed by an outpouring of support from others in the crowd, became a turning point for her.
“It was f—king life-saving,” she said, explaining how it inspired the title of her upcoming album, Love in Real Life.
Lizzo shared her story in hopes of helping others struggling with depression, betrayal, or feelings of self-doubt. “If you’re depressed, reach out to someone who will listen,” she urged. “If you hate the way you look, reach out to someone who loves you and will tell you, ‘You are f—king beautiful as you are right now.’”
Her message was clear: real connection and support can make all the difference.
