Mariah Carey’s enduring holiday classic, “All I Want for Christmas Is You”, has done it again! For the sixth consecutive holiday season, the festive anthem rockets back to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking its 15th overall week atop the chart.
First released in 1994 on Carey’s Merry Christmas album, the song continues to dominate nearly three decades later, thanks to its undeniable charm and a surge in holiday playlisting and streaming. This year, it leaped nine spots to reclaim the top spot, supported by a 42% increase in streams (38.2M total), a 56% rise in radio airplay impressions (24.4M), and an 81% spike in downloads during the week of Nov. 29–Dec. 5.
Carey’s record-breaking legacy grows as she remains the soloist with the most Hot 100 No. 1s (19 in total), trailing only The Beatles. She’s also the first artist to top the chart in four distinct decades. Reflecting on the song’s impact, Carey once shared, “I had absolutely no idea the impact the song would eventually have worldwide. I’m so full of gratitude that so many people enjoy it with me every year.”
Mariah isn’t the only one spreading holiday cheer. Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” climbs to No. 2, while Wham!’s “Last Christmas” secures a new peak at No. 3. Bobby Helms’ “Jingle Bell Rock” and Burl Ives’ “A Holly Jolly Christmas” also return to the top 10, showcasing the enduring love for classic holiday hits.
Let’s hear it for Mariah—queen of Christmas yet again! 🎄✨
