During his October 28 concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Shawn Mendes opened up about the speculation surrounding his sexuality. In a heartfelt speech, the singer shared that he is still figuring things out: “I’m just figuring it out like everyone and… I don’t really know sometimes, and I know other times.” and described sexuality as a “beautifully complex” aspect of life. Mendes admitted feeling vulnerable but emphasized that he’s learning to embrace his truth, despite societal pressure.

He also debuted a new song, The Mountain, with lyrics that reflect his journey, singing, “You can say I like girls or boys, whatever fits your mould.” This marks a shift for Mendes, who has previously expressed frustration with the rumours surrounding his sexuality.
