Trace Cyrus has publicly voiced concerns about his father, country star Billy Ray Cyrus, claiming that his father threatened legal action after he encouraged him to seek help. In a recent Instagram post, Trace alleged that despite his heartfelt message, his father responded indirectly by contacting a family member to relay the threat.

“Dad, I live 30 minutes away from you,” Trace wrote. “You could’ve just come and talked to me like a man.”

Trace further stated that he and his siblings had been worried about Billy Ray’s well-being for years, but their father had distanced himself. He also shared a candid reflection, calling his prior statement "loving" while refraining from revealing more details to avoid “putting [Billy Ray’s] business out there.”

The drama follows Trace’s initial Instagram message, in which he cited years of concern and referenced his father’s criticized performance at Donald Trump’s inaugural ball. For his part, Billy Ray has not publicly addressed Trace’s claims.

Meanwhile, Billy Ray’s younger son, Braison Cyrus, shared a contrasting perspective, calling his father “happy, healthy, and ready to make this record,” as he prepares to produce Billy Ray’s upcoming album, set for release this summer.
