Usher’s long-anticipated return to Australia has been canceled, disappointing fans who were eager to see the R&B star perform live for the first time in over a decade.

The tour, originally scheduled for November and December 2025 in Sydney and Melbourne, was expected to be a major moment for the region. Tickets went on sale in May and were met with staggering demand, prompting promoters to add four extra dates to the initial eight-show run.

However, in a surprise announcement posted Friday (July 4) on the Ticketek website, promoter Live Nation confirmed that the shows would “no longer be proceeding.” No further details were provided regarding the cancellation, leaving fans with more questions than answers.

“All tickets purchased (including refundable ticket purchases, if relevant) will be automatically refunded in full to the original payment method used. Customers do not need to take any action,” the statement read.

Usher has yet to comment publicly on the development. His last performance in Australia dates back to 2011 during his “OMG” tour.

Outside of music, Usher has recently found himself entangled in unrelated tabloid speculation due to his alleged connections to Diddy amid the music mogul’s ongoing legal controversies. The chatter has even affected Usher’s teenage son, who addressed internet commenters comparing him to Diddy in appearance and demeanor. Neither Usher nor his team has spoken on the rumors.

While his global “Past Present Future” tour continues to draw crowds in other regions, Australian fans may need to wait a bit longer for their turn. No word yet on whether the shows will be rescheduled.
