Whoopi Goldberg had some words for conservative author Raymond Arroyo after he questioned Beyoncé’s Grammy wins on The View this week.
Arroyo, appearing on The Ingraham Angle, expressed his disbelief that Beyoncé has accumulated 35 Grammy awards, more than music legends like Frank Sinatra and Dolly Parton. His frustration escalated as he aimed at Grammy voters, suggesting that the selection process was out of touch.
Goldberg was quick to set the record straight. (Watch from here) “Are you aware that you have to be in the music industry to be a Grammy voter? So, the cat-sitter can’t just vote,” she quipped, dismissing Arroyo’s claims with humour. She also pointed out the obvious: industry professionals determined Beyoncé’s wins, and she has earned every accolade.
Beyoncé’s historic night at the Grammys saw her win her first-ever Album of the Year award and become the first Black woman to win Best Country Album with Cowboy Carter. Her wins were celebrated by fans worldwide—but not everyone was on board. Regardless, Goldberg’s response made one thing clear: Beyoncé’s achievements speak for themselves.
